Does my UAE residence visa help me get an Indonesian visa?

No. Indonesia looks at the passport you travel on, not your UAE residency. A Dubai resident holding a Pakistani passport follows the rules for Pakistani citizens; an Emirati follows the rules for UAE nationals. This one fact changes everything about your plan, so start there.

A lot of families in Dubai are mixed-nationality households, and we often see one person eligible for an eVOA while their spouse needs a sponsored visa. Plan for the strictest passport in the family.

Step 1: Decide how long you're really staying

• •Trying Bali out for a month or two: eVOA or Tourist Visa C1 (passport permitting)
• •Staying 3–6 months: Tourist Visa C1 with extensions
• •Living there, running a business: PT PMA company + Investor KITAS
• •Married to an Indonesian: Spouse KITAS

Step 2: Check each passport in your family

Write down every passport nationality in the household. For each one, confirm the entry route. If any family member can't use the eVOA, their route (and sponsor) sets the timeline for everyone.

Step 3: Prepare documents while you're still in the UAE

It's much easier to gather paperwork before you leave:

• •Passports with plenty of validity (at least 6 months; 18 months for KITAS)
• •Recent bank statements
• •Marriage and birth certificates if family members will be dependants
• •Company documents if you're investing

Step 4: Don't land on the wrong visa

The expensive mistake is arriving on a short visa "to sort things out later". Tourist visas and eVOA cannot be converted into a KITAS inside Indonesia. If you're moving for the long term, plan the long-term route before you fly.

Step 5: Book with a buffer

Give yourself 10–14 days for sponsored visas, and several weeks for KITAS routes. From the UAE, most standard visa processing takes 5–10 working days.
