For most people staying around 90 days, the Tourist Visa C1 is the right choice. It gives you 60 days on arrival and can be extended in 30-day blocks, so a 3-month stay fits comfortably with one extension. You need an Indonesian sponsor and you apply before you fly.
We get this question on WhatsApp almost every day, usually from someone who has already booked flights. So let's keep it practical.
Can I just use the eVOA for 3 months?
No, not on its own. The eVOA gives you 30 days and can be extended once for another 30 days. That's 60 days maximum. If you arrive on an eVOA planning to stay 90 days, you'll run out of road at day 60 and have to leave.
This is the single most common mistake we see. People pick the eVOA because it's quick, then message us in week seven asking how to stay longer. By then the options are limited.
How does the C1 route work for 90 days?
- •Day 1: arrive on your C1 — 60 days of stay
- •Around day 50: start your first extension (don't wait for day 59)
- •Day 61–90: you're covered by the extension
If your plans grow, the C1 can be extended further, up to 180 days in total. That flexibility is why long-stay travellers, remote workers testing out Bali and families visiting relatives usually end up on it.
